ERS ENERGY PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT ENGINEER
To meet the objectives of decarbonising the heavy goods transport sector, the Charge As You Drive (CAYD) consortium coordinated by the VINCI Group is proposing to trial two competing dynamic recharging technologies forming part of the ERS (Electric Road Systems), one using conductive rails and the other inductive coils, on the VINCI Autoroutes network (A10) in real traffic conditions. These technologies have the advantage of massively reducing the size of batteries (particularly for long-distance HGVs) and eliminating charging time constraints, which will accelerate the decarbonisation of road transport in France and Europe. Gustave Eiffel University is involved in a wide range of research areas (mobility, infrastructure, transport, etc.) and is also involved in expert appraisal and standardisation activities. As part of the CAYD project, the Gustave Eiffel University will be evaluating the ERS systems proposed by the project's industrial partners and contributing to the common good by comparing the various ERS solutions. Several positions are open within the framework of this project. This position represents a valuable opportunity for a person motivated by societal issues, in particular those relating to the decarbonisation of transport. . Missions principales
Main tasks:
- Leading the implementation of a task in the "Evaluation of the energy performance of systems and impact studies" project
- To carry out a state-of-the-art review of the various ERSs and the methodologies used to characterise their energy performance.
- Carry out an in-depth risk analysis and identify the main influencing factors. Propose a methodology for establishing a reference framework for assessing the energy performance of HRAs. These scientific and technical activities will be carried out in close coordination with technology suppliers and other experts with a strong interest in system safety (electromagnetic emissions, etc.).
- Specifying, acquiring and coordinating the integration of measurement equipment (on-board vehicles and integrated into infrastructures) in close coordination with the project's experts and partners.
- Carrying out an inventory of experimental systems developed by manufacturers Defining the experimental plan, taking stock of existing systems, carrying out the data acquisition phases at the various sites
- Analysing, summarising, disseminating and using the results
- Propose a reference framework with a view to future standardisation initiatives
